This website tells you to "Just say no to diet scams" but on the same page itself, on a different column, it's telling you about "the skinny on celebrity diets". What is it trying to tell you? On one hand say no to diet scams, on the other, they are trying to pull you into reading celebrity diets. Celebrities are different than us, they need their looks on the screen, it's their source of income. We do not have jobs like them, some of us are engineers, lecturers, journalist. We don't need our looks to bring money in, but we need to stay healthy.
And on another website puts in your mind that the fitter you are, the happier you will become. Aren't people supposed to be happy with themselves, how they look? But no, the media puts in your mind that you need to look like this in order for you to be happy. It does not make sense at all. So everybody is losing weight, just to look good for some other people. Why can't one look good and feel good about themselves. If you have trouble with your weight, then exercise to stay healthy, instead of thinking you must lose that weight of yours to look good for someone else.
Consciously or unconsciously, women especially, are pressured to lose their weight because it is planted in their mind they need to look like the people on TV to be happy, and feel good about themselves. It's good to exercise, but exercise to stay healthy, not because it will make you happy. Celebs need to look good to earn money. Normal people like us who aren't celebrities use our brain to bring the money in. Ignoring the media is the best way to be happy about yourself. Websites targeted the women because they know that women wants to look good for their men, but it is wrong to say they need to do the celeb diet and get fit like those women on their ads. Come on, these are advertisement company together with advertisement people. If they look normal like us, people will think their scam won't work.
So please, thread carefully... I'm just saying, be healthy and happy even without those diet and exercise scams. They are making money on your low self-esteem. They're not going to benefit you no matter how much weight you lose, because in the end, it is about how you feel inside. Even if you already look anorexic, scams like this will make you feel ugly.
